INFLATION’S PROGRESS
A BRIGHTER OUTLOOK
Mr H. E. Edmunds, owner of Inflation, has received a cable from Alan McDonald, who has charge of the Paper Money colt on the Australian trip, which indicates that there is a distinct possibility that the trouble which overtook the youngster is answering to treatment. The cablegram reads:— “Colt greatly improved; worst over; will know in a day or two how matters stand.” Inflation had an engagement in the Hill Stakes this Saturday and, although there appears to be little prospect of the colt fulfilling it-, Mr Edmunds is hopeful that his representative will recover quickly enough to permit of his being a runner in the Epsom Handicap on October 1. W bile the break in training is bound to have affected Inflation’s form, it might be possible to give him a winding-up gallop at one of the small fixtures before the big meeting, which would greatly enha'nce his prospects.
