It is revealed that there are changes under negotiation in the CanadianNew Zealand treaty. Mr Stevens is secretive, but he expressed confidence that the changes would lie ready for ratification when the Parliaments open. The GovernorGeneral, who is on a tour of the west, is cutting his itinerary for the opening of Parliament.
