MANAWHENUA v. WELLINGTON
FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY,
A[anawhenua’s next representative Rugby fixture will bo in opposition to Wellington at the Showgrounds, on Saturday, and the following fifteen will do duty for tho home union:— Full-back.—Wasley. Three-quarters. Eliott, Johnston, Cooke.
Five-eighths.—Bramwell, Plank. Half-back.—lrvine. Back row.—Hight. Centre row.—Palmer, AlcKenzie, Alitchell, Findlay. Front row.—AlcDonald, Roddick, Ropata. Emergencies.—Fraser-Smith, Coopei (forwards), Campbell, Griffin (backs). The team is identical with that which opposed Hawke’s Bay, but many local enthusiasts are of the opinion that one amendment, if not two, should have been made in the rearguard. In order to expedite matters, the junior competition will be continued on Saturday, and three games have been set down for the Showgrounds at an early hour so as to permit of tho players- taking part witnessing tho representative game later. The draw is: Juniors.—Kia Toa v. Batteries, No. 5 Showgrounds at 1.30 p.m. (Air J. Dalton) ; P.N.H.S. v. Old Boys B, Oval, Showgrounds, at 1.15 p.m. (Air L. Cope) ; Feilding v. United, No. 1 Johnston Park, 3 p.m. (Air G. Dutliie.) ; Old Boys A, a bye.
