CHILD BITTEN.
BY ALSATIAN DOG. SEVERE FACIAL INJURIES.
The vicious nature of an Alsatian dog was responsible for the three-year-old son of Air and Airs A. R. Taylor, of Glasgow Terrace, Feilding, receiving severe injuries to his face on Alonday afternoon. The dog, which was the property of a neighbour, wandered into Air Taylor’s house and entered a room in which a little boy was minding a baby. It is not clear how tho animal came to attack the child, but Air Taylor heard a growl and a scream and, on quickly investigating, found that the dog had snapped at the boy’s face, the fangs penetrating just below the eye and on the lip, which was nastily- torn. The child was immediately attended to by a doctor when, in addition to his wound, it was found that he was suffering severely from fright, Ids nerves not yet having recovered thenusual composure. The owner of the dog was promptly informed of the occurrence and yesterday the animal was destroyed.
