LACK OF ORDERS.

HIIvURANGI MINE TO CLOSE

Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, Sept. 14. The latest development from the lack of Government and other orders necessary to keep the work going is that the Waro Co-operative Coal Coy. at Hikurangi has decided to start withdrawing the pumps from the mine to-morrow. The final voto on a proposal to wind up the company will be taken, on the 22nd inst. The position is critical as a stoppage will prevent the continuance of operations at the Hikurangi Company’s mine on account of flooding from the Waro pit. thereby rendering idle several hundred miners.
