RONGOTEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, Sept.’ 10. A meeting was held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening, for tho purpose of discussing Mr C. Ciochetto’6 proposal that a Radio Listeners’ Association be formed in Rongotea. Several speakers from Palmerston North outlined tho advantages to be derived if owners of radio sets would join up. The proposal met with unanimous support, Mr Stanley Hunt being appointed chairman and Miss Bower hon. secretary. Tho membership fco was fixed at Is 6d per year. The selection of a delegate to attend the Palmerston North association executive meetings was held over. Tho meeting closed with a vote of thanks to tho visitors. There will bo no election for the Town Board. Tho present commissioners will continue in office, no other nominations having been received. y The committee of the Rongotea Horticultural Society are sparing no efforts to make the Flower Show on Wednesday a real success, and if their hopes are fully realised it should bo an outstanding event and well worth seeing:. The vocal and instrumental programme which will Be provided in the evening should prove an additional attraction and. it is hoped will meet with the support it merits
