FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

LIND LODGE OF DRUIDS

At the fortnightly meeting of the Lind Lodge of Druids, held in the Tokomam Hall this week-, A.D. Sister Guy presided over a good attendance. District President Bro. Kjar paid an official visit and was accorded full Druidic honours. Officers and members from the following lodges were also welcomed by the A.l). : Dlakino, Oroua, Acorn, Shannon and Horowlienua. About 50 members and friends travelled from Palmerston North. At a suitable juncture, P.A.. Sister Osborne, on behalf of bind Lodge, presented a handbag and a bouquet to P.S. Sister Voss, who lias given up her position as lodge .secretary. P.S, Sister Voss suitably responded. P.D.P. Bro. Titcombe was DIG., P.S. Bm. Dlewett. of Oroua, congratulated Sister Voss oil the able manner in which she had always carried out her duties, which, be said, was a credit to herself and an honour to the lodge. After the closing of the lodge, members of tbe U.F.C. Council were welcomed by tire A.D.

With Bro. Lloyd at the piano, dancing was indulged in. P.D.P. Bro. Elsinore and P.A. Bro. Oslxjrne acted as M.C.’s. Bros. Rosa noski and Bailey rendered extras on the accordeon. P.A. Sister Osborne gave a humorous dialogue which earned a well-deserved encore. A generous supper was served by a cheerful band of helpers. Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Sisters Boote and Wilkinson and partners. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” concluded a very pleasant evening.
