LONGBURN
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONGBURN, Sept. 10. There was a good attendance at the fortnightly euchre party and dance held in tho hall on Tuesday evening. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs Day and Mr Mabcy, and consolation prizes wero awarded to Mrs R. Cookslcy and Mr Ross. Extras for the dance wero played by Miss Una Chamberlain and Mr 0. Shirriflfs. The winner of a competition was Miss Dorothy Board, of Palmerston North. The friends of Mr W. Fletcher of Karero Road, will regret to hear that he has had to again enter tho Hospital for further treatment. Rev. J. Bales and Mrs Bates, of Takapau, liavo been visiting Mr and Mrs \V. Sutton. Mr J. Campbell is spending a holiday with friends at Brunnerton, West ('oast.
