NAVAL STRENGTH
FRENCH CONSTRUCTION. BUILDING ACTIVITY. TWO PROGRAMMES IN ONE YEAR (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received July 4, 11 a.m. PARIS, July 3. After the Senate last night had voted a credit for the building of eight warships in 1931, the Minister for the Navy, M. Dumont, this afternoon surprisingly, almost secretly, tabled a bill for another credit vote, for four 7500ton cruisers, one destroyer and one torpedo boat, which are being built in 1932.
This is the first time in history that there have been two programmes in one year.
