TRADE IMPROVEMENT
OUTLOOK IN UNITED STATES. DEFINITE PROGRESS. REPORT TO PRESIDENT. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, April 16. The Department of Commerce has announced that the United States foreign trade for March increased by 49,000,000 dollars to a total approximately of 500,000,000 dollars. At the same time Mr Roger Babson, a prominent statistician, advised President Hoover that the United States business had definitely improved, and that he would not bo surprised to see a shortage of labour before the end of the year in certain lines.
