INTERESTING BIRD LIFE STUDY.—Mr A. T. Pycroft investigating an owl’s nest off Aldred Road, Remuera. Two owls (inset) have been hatched in a hollow in the trunk of a willow and daily observations show that the larder in the nest is replenished with field mice. The parent birds subjected Mr Pycroft and the photographer to a continuous assault during the intrusion.
