AUCKLAND UNION’S VIEWS. Per Press Association; CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 28. At the meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union the appointment of Mr E. AlcKenzie, of Wairarapa, to referee the match between Canterbury and Auckland at Auckland on Saturday was announced by a telegram from the New Zealand union. A telegram was also received from the Auckland Union protesting against the appointment of outside referees and submitting local names. This was received.
