CRICKET TOUR.
ENGLISH TEAM FOR NEW ZEALAND. BOWLEY SENDS NEWS. (By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 27. In a 'letter received to-day, E. H. Bowley, the ex-Auckland cricket coach, announces his intention of making a tour of Australia- and New Zealand with the English team during the coming season. Concerning the players who are coming out Bowley says: “We have three fast howlers in Nicholls, Worthington and Barrett. There is none better in England on his day than the first named. Our first six batsmen will take a good deal of dislodging. There are Dowson, Woolley, Duleepsinhii, Watson and Turnbull, with myself, of course, as an opening bat. There is nothing finer to be seen in cricket if Woolley gets going. "The party will include the biggest and smallest fellows playing first class cricket in England, namely, Earle and Cornford. If they walk on the field together they should cause some screams from the crowds.”
