MAYOR TO PAY DAMAGES.

CHRISTCHURGH, Aug. 27. The Mayor of Christchurch, Rev. J. K. Archer, was sued in the Magistrate’s Court to-day for £6 10s, damages caused in a motor collision. Plaintiff, F. J. Reynolds, a carrier, alleged that Mr Archer y motor-ear struck his (plaintiff’s) motor-van at a street intersection, causing damage which cost £6 10s to repair, and that the collision was due to Mr Archer’s negligence. The Magistrate, after hearing much evidence, _ gave _ judgment for the amount claimed with costs.
