RANGITIKEI GOLF CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, July 5. An eclectic match will be played on Saturday, trophies given for both seniors and juniors. Handry 10, Mason 10 v. Law 6. Juniors: G. Drew 17 v. Petrio 18, Marumaru 18 v Amon 13, Jno. Trickcr 18 v. Thompson 18. P. Whisker 17 v. Mitchell 18, Dalrymple 16 v. T. R. Willis 18, Mackay 18 v. Robbie 17, Olson 14 v. L. Whisker 18, Purcell 13 v. W. J. Willis 18, R. Trickcr 18 v. Ingram 18, Prichard 11 v. scoror. The L.G.U. medal competition was played on Wednesday afternoon in fine weather, and the beet scores recorded were as folLow :—Silver medal: Mrs Law 92—13 —79. Bronze medal: Mrs Goodall 101 —22—79; Miss Amon 106—24—82; Miss N. Wilson 10/—25—82; Mrs Hendry 116—34—82; Mrs Drew 108—25 —83. Juniors: Miss Green 120—36-84. LODGE MEETING.
The regular fortnightly meeting of Roecneath Rebckah Lodge No. 25, 1.0.0. F., was held in the lodge room on July 2. N.G. Sister Hill presided over a fair attendance of members. An invitation to a social and dance was received from the United Feilding Encampment Lodge No. 8. One candidate was initiated. The officers were congratulated on the manner in which they delivered their charges during the initiation ceremony. The first of a scries of three ritual competitions was held, and it proved that there were really good ritualists in the lodge, and the judges will have a difficult task to select the winner. The N.G. called for suggestions for the most suitable way in which to assist the earthquake fund. It was resolved to tako up a subscription amongst the members, and £1 11s 6d was subscribed. Several members handed in their names to go to Feilding pn July 11. The judges announced that the second ritual competition would be held on next lodge -night. After the moeting competitions were held, Sister Kearney and Bro. J. Dwyer proving the winners. A game forwarded by Sister Edwards (a member of the order initiated in this lodge, but npw transferred to Masterton) was played and caused much amusement.
GENERAL. Mr J. Hardinge, of Wanganui, tho new Bulls representative of the Wanganui-Ran-gitikei Power Board, took up his duties hero this week, Mr W. A. Winstanley removing to Marton. Trainer A. E. Neale left for Trenthhm on Thursday morning with the racehorses Elysianor and Marjoram. Both appear to be in good fettle and are expected to run well.
