GOLF NOTES. Although still somewhat we* in places, the FeLkling golf course appears to show signs of improvement, and with fine weather the playing areas should be favourable over the weekend. In order to protect the turf in the low-lying fairways, teeing up may be resorted-to, but this point will be decided by the green committee on Saturday, morning. During the weekend a tombstone match will be played. Players are requested to note that in future cards for all events must be handed in. The committee wish to draw the attention of members to the following matter:—(l) In the past a large percentage of the players taking part in club competitions have failed to return their cards. (2) In future all members w*ho sign the book must return their cards and enter their scores in the book whatever the score may be. If they do not do so, they render themselves liable to be raised in handicap. (3) If any member is dissatisfied with his handicap, he may put in three cards (which have been properly kept by a fellow member of the club) and his handicap will be readjusted by the committee on the basis of the cards teturned.

PERSONAL. The engagement is announced of Mr Wallace Bramwell, of Hastings, late of Feilding, to Miss Thelma Sands, only daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Sands, of Newmarket, Auckland.
