EARL OF EGMONT.
FINDS LIFE IN CASTLE TAME. (Australian Press Association.) LONDON, March 20. The Earl of Egmout, who recently arrived from Canada, does not know what to do. He says that he was born in England, but he is so used to hard work, farming, and stock-keeping on the edge of the Canadian Rockies, that he fears life in the castle will be a bit tame. He added: “I will sit in the House of Lords, but there are lots of things to be done beforehand. ■ The Countess is very nice. She is a fine lady, and anyone can see she is a lady. It is tough luck for her, but she realises it cannot be helped.” Freddy, the son and heir, who seems to regard pressmen and photographers as natural enemies, when _ asked if he would go to Oxford, replied that he would sooner see a stampede. He said: “Everywhere I go I’m pestered with you newspaper guys.”
