CANCER RESEARCH
3.45 P.M. EDITION
LACK OF MATERIAL
DOCTOR’S SUGGESTION
(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Copyright). (Australian Press Association). Received November 7, 2.5 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 6. Speaking in support of tho British Empire Cancer Campaign, Dr. Norbury, Medical Officer of Health at Holywell, declared: “Researches into human cancer aro hampered by a want of material. We waste a great deal yearly by hangings. I say it in all seriousness: Wouldn’t it he possible for everyone condemned to death to receive the option of giving himself up for cancer research ? / They would have the choice of voluntary sacrifice, because I do not suppose there would be much left of them in five years. “Probably the suggestion will not bo considered seriously at the present, but it is certain our descendants will ultimately adopt some such plan?”
