Last evening a meeting was held for the purpose of forming a Manawatu Tramping Club. Mr F. Yortt presided ovor an excellent attendance, including a number of ladies. The following committee . was appointed to purchase equipment, draw up a programme for the season and prepare a set of rules: —Messrs L. Seymour (secretary); D. Glendinning, W. Birnie, J. Silson, G. Dawick, B. Bepdall, G. Vautier, and F. Yortt. The committee were instructed not to spend more on equipment than the amount of funds in hand. A short discussion took place on the subject of a Christmas trip. Mr Silson suggested that an excellent trip would be to the National Park and the Kaimanawa Range.
