TENNIS TOURNAMENT.

BULLS, Nov. 6. A combined Yankee tournament will be commenced on the Bulls Tennis Club’s courts this week, and handicaps declared for the tourney are as follow :—Ralfe and Miss Tricker scr., ‘V. Edwards and Miss Lunn 2, Hollis and Miss Minnio Kearney 3, Cooper and Miss Henderson 4, Hunt and Miss G. Green 8, P. Ralfe and Miss May Kearney 12, F. Ingram and Miss Muir 12, R. Mansell and Miss Kemp 14, C. Duncum and Miss Mackie 14, R. Ingram and Miss Marumaru 14, G. Bertram and Mrs Marumaru 14, I. Bevan and Miss I. Walker 14, E. Ingram and Miss Gunn 15, G. Flower and Miss Cooper 16, A. Signal and Miss Duncum 16, Cyril Duncum and Miss Z. Ralfe 16, H. Kearney and Mrs Mansell 16, S. Rich and Mrs Ralfe 16, R. Hart and Miss Brookie 17, F. Edwards and Miss Harris 18, P. Morse and Mrs Duncum 20. While playing tennis on Monday, Mr S. Rich had the misfortune to slip and sprain an ankle badly.

GENERAL. Mr Rupert Mackay has returned from Wellington. < . Mr Fred. Ralfe left on a business trip to Wellington on Tuesday. . Mr and Mrs Lamont, of Waipukurau, an visiting friends in Bulls. Mr and Mrs Claude Ellery arrived from Christchurch on Monday, and the usual “tin-kettling” took place the same evening. . . A local motorist had a hair-raising experience while driving a light c&r on the Bulls-Sanson Road the other day, a large service car, said to have been travelling at a good speed, striking the smaller vehicle squarely in the rear, and materially increasing its speed for a few chains. Members of tho Bulls Football Club paid a surprise visit to Mr Claude Ellery and his brido on Monday, and presented their club-mate with a handsome clock, at tho same time wishing tho happy couple future health and happiness. While dressing a beast a few days ago, Mr R. Gray, of Brandon Hall Road, inflicted a nasty gash in his leg, necessitating the insertion of several stitches.
