COW’S 20 MILES MARCH

Summoned for allowing his cow to stray, a Bedfordshire farmer, named James gave evidence that he took the cow and a calf to market and sold the calf.

He carted the cow home, but it escaped and walked 20 miles back to the market, where a policeman found it, lowing, at 2 a.m.
