A search lias been instituted for Mrs Margaret Olive Johnson, a member of the Salvation Army, and well-known in Essex, who disappeared the day before (according to her statement) she was to inherit a fortune of £74,000 from an Australian relative.
Some months ago Mrs Johnson announced that good fortune was coming to her, and stated that she proposed expending a portion of the money in furthering religious work. She ordered a luxurious motor car and engaged a chauffeur, and commissioned a firm to construct four houses, one of which she placed at the disposal of Salvation Army officers. In the meantime, it is stated, she obtained advances of money to carry on until her inheritance arrived.
