ASHHURRT FLOWER SHOW.
Tho big annual event in connection with St. Mary’s Church, Ashhurst, this year in and of tho parish hall building fund, is to tako place in the Town Hall,' Ashhurst, to-morrow, Decombor Ist, Tho show is to bo oponod by His AVorship tho Alayior of Pnlmorston North, Air A. J. Graham, at 2.30 p.m. in the unavoidable absence of Air J. A. Nash, ALP. In tho evening a bright hour’s pleasure will bo provided by a party from Palmerston North under the direction of the Rev. G. AA r . Dent. The annual sale of work is also being held in conjunction with tho show, and tho work stall, confectionery stall and cake and produce stalls will bo well stocked to provide tho needs of all. The Ladies’ Guild has an especially attractive selection of goods to dispose of, many of which would be most suitable for Christmas gifts. Intending exhibitors are reminded that schedules of exhibits may be obtained from Brndfield’s, Tho Square, or from the secretary, Air A. AV. Trass,' Ashhurst. The committee would bo grateful if exhibitors could bring their exhibits by 11 a.m‘. on the day iof the show, with envelopes for each exhibit duly filled in; they would be grateful, too, for men helpers- at tho hall on the evening before the show. The Ladies’ Guild hold a most successful gift afternoon tea at tho vicarage last Saturday in aid of their stall, when there was a large attendance and a largo number of beautiful gifts wore brought, which will add greatly tp the appearance of the stall. A sumptuous tea was providod by the members of tho guild and a very linppy and successful aftornoon was spent by all. Tho competition was won by Mrs W. G. Romley.
