DRY CONDITIONS.
EFFECT IN AUSTRALIA. PRODUCTION VALUES DECREASE. Received September 3, 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 2. The total value of production recorded in all industries in Austialia during 1925-26 was £430,387,000, or an average of £7l 16s 6d per head of population. In 1924-25 the value was £449,157,000, equal to £76 9s 5d per head. The decrease is attributed to the droughty condition which ruled later in the year. The total area cropped was 16,793,000, acres or 500,000 acres less than the previous year, and the value of the produce was £89,267,,000, averaging £5 6s 4d per acre. Sheep numbered 103,563,000, which produced 830,459,000 pounds of wool. The value of dairy produce was £47,161,000. —Press Association.
