FARMERS' UNION.

EXECUTIVE MEETING. The monthly meeting of the executive of the Manawatu provincial branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held this morning, Mr 0. P. Lynch presiding. There were also presont Messrs J. Balsillie, B. G. Gower, J. A. McLeavey, T. D. Clifford, J. Gloyn, F. Maul, H. McLeavey, H. Denton, and H. Bond. TARIFF COMMISSION. The Dominion executive forwarded a circular -letter, to the effect that the Tariff Commission proposed to visit various places in New Zealand for the purpose of taking evidence from persons or associations desiring to make representations respecting the Customs tariff. A list of classes of articles the Manawatu executive would like the Farmers’ Union to give evidence upon was requested, also a typed copy of the suggested evidence with reference to these articles. —Received. RURAL CREDITS SCHEME. Reporting with regard to the Rural Credits Scheme, discussed at a meeting of the Dominion executive, the chairman stated he understood that the matter would be pushed forward the next session of Parliament and, in the meantime, Mr Poison was going to formulate a programme of what the farmers desired. it was resolved to forward a letter of congratulation to Mr W. J. Polsim, Dominion president, for his advocacy of union affairs and his efforts in making them known to the New Zealand public.
