THE JUBILEE.

For the jubilee procession another entry of more than usual interest has been received, this being an old-time sledge as used by the pioneers. The sledge is in one piece, having been fashioned from the trunk of a tree. In the early days it was used for more than the transport of goods, being occasionally brought into service for the carriage of passengers across very muddy country. To further the candidature of their nominee for the queen carnival, tho Friendly Societies will be conducting a street stall in the Square to-morrow, when they will offer lor sale a liberal supply of produco and other commodities. The sports bodies have withdrawn their entry for the queen carnival, but the position has been kept even by the Boy Scouts entering tho fray. Last night the Scouts’ Council decided to launch an immediato offensive.
