ELECTRIC ROAD SIGNS.
SUGGESTION TO CONFERENCE. “The tremendous increase of motor traffic, both by day and by night on our country roads, lias created a necessity and a demand for road signs and warning notices, and the question arises, in view of the thousands of miles of electric lines along roads, whether we can suggest a means or a system under which electricity could be made available to make the signs more discerliable at night. I believe that by our united consrideration of this question we could interest the couuty councils, the Highways Board and the motor associations. The proposal presents possibilities for a means of revenue for boards as well as a protection (for the users of our highways) which will be appreciated to the full ” stated Mr C Campbell, of Invercargill, i„ the course of his presidential address to the conference to-day of power board secretar les and executive officers.
