The Plunket Shield match, Otago v. Auckland, was resumed in fine weather, tho wicket being as good as on the first day. Blamircs, who was injured yesterday, did not field. Cooper (56) and Gillespio (18) resumed Auckland’s second innings (2 for 212) to the bowling of Torrance and Blunt. At noon Auckland had lost four wickets for 303 runs, after three hours 50 minutes’ play.
WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY.
Per Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 4. The Plunket Shield match, Wellington versus Canterbury, was continued this morning, Hollings (45) and Brice (7), not out players, resuming the hatting for Wellington. Just after 300 had appeared, Brice was bowled by Read. Tho innings closed for a total of 308. AVoods and Crawford opened Canterbury’s second innings, the local side requiring 690 to win. At noon twelve had been scored without tho loss of a wicket. Later. At the luncheon adjournment Canterbury had lost three wickets for 82.
