SON SAVES MOTHER.

Dragged from her bed in a semi-con-scious condition, Mrs Eliza Jane Wright had a narrow escape from death at Redfern, Sydney, recently, when her house caught fire. Flames broke out at a factory shortly after 4 a.lll. The building at one end was badly damaged. A galvanise'! iron wall fell on the back portion of tlie .residence of Mrs Wright. She was pulled from bed by her son, Frederick Shiner, who lives next door. He forced open the front door of his mother’s residence, and found smoke pouring through a ventilator into lier bedroom. She was in a semi-conscious condition. He carried lier to his house.
