CIVIL BUSINESS

Civil business was dealt with by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court this morning. Judgment for plaintiff by- default was given in the following cases: —Kiwi Bacon Co. Ltd. (Mr Laurenson) v. J. By-ford, £B3 3s, costs £5 5s 6d; W. S. V. Bransgrovo (Mr Grant) v. R. H. Miles, £2 2s, costs £1 3s 6d; A. J. Palmer and Co., Ltd. (Mr Wither) v. A. Shearsby, £4 12s 9d, costs £1 3s 6d; A. C. Foddy and Co. (Mr Cooper) v. A Dymond, £2 7s 6d, costs £1 3s 6d; Child Bros (Mr Meatyard) v. J. H. Tapp, £2 16s 3d, costs £1 3s 6d; Mrs M. E. Dennan (Mr Ongley) v. A. McEwen, £4 10s, costs £1 3s 6d; Colley) v. S. McClelland, £lO9 7s 1 d, linson and Cunninghame, Ltd (Mr Oakcosts £6 4s 6d; S. Wright and Co. (Mr Cooper) v. J. H. R. Thorburn (Mr Meatyard) v. E. McGill, £9, costs £2 15s 6d. - JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. W. Candy, farmer, of Milson’s line, Palmerston North, was ordered to pay J. Nathan and Co., Ltd. (Mr Grant) the sum of £8 8s 6d forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment. P. M. and Iv. Havill (Mr Grant) secured an order against P. McPhail, labourer, of Palmerston North, for the immediate payment of £4 Bs, in default oeven days’ imprisonment, the warrant to bo suspended if defendant pays £1 per month, the first payment to be made on April 27. T. Buick, of Tiakitahuna farmer, was ordered to pay P. H. Richardson (Mr Grant) the amount of £1 14s 6d immediately, in default three day’s imprisonment. Collinson and Son (Mr Ongley) secured an order against Leslie McMlnn, of Levin, plasterer, for the payment of £3 11s 6d forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment.
