IN OLD GASWORKS.

TWO LABOURERS SENT TO GAOL.

Described as labourers, David Gillespie and James Douglas, 44 and 4J years of age respectively, appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court this morning charged that, on March 29, they were found by .night in an enclosed area namely, tho old gasworks in Main street, without lawful excuse, but i circumstances which did not disclose tho commission of, or the intention to commit, any other offence. Both pleaded guilty. Senior-Sergeant 0 Grady Gillespie had previously been conv cted for theft. With regard to Douglas, it was difficult to account for Ins having gone to the gasworks, as when he had £3 6s in his possesSl< Tlio magist. .te sentenced both to 14 days’ imprisonment. • - /
