LAWN TENNIS.

AIATCH AGAINST NEW ZEALAND

N.S.AV. TEAAI. The New South AVales lawn tennis selectors have picked the following to practise for the match against New Zealand on April 9 and 10: —N. Peach, J. AVillard, L. Baker, A. L. North, N. McDougall, E. Kalms, and J. Clemenger. J. O. Anderson and R. O. Cummings were unavailable. AVriting in the Sydney Sun, Air Henry Alarsh says: “I think that two other country players should have been, invited to practise—Aubrey Siolor and J. Al. Bayley. “Kalms is one of our four best players. AVitli Anderson out lie takes second or third place. Some would put him first under these conditions. Sieler .ran him pretty close in tho country singles, and was runner-up to Peach in the N.S.AV. championships last year. I incline to think he has either been, overlooked or is not available.

“Bayley is almost certainly not available, and on his last showing it is doubtful if ho would get in if lie were, but at his best would bo seriously considered. Unorthodox player as Sieler is, 1 think he would get a place against New Zealand, and strengthen the side in both singles and doubles. Jack Clemenger is taking the game more seriously again. He needs to get into condition, as in form ho would bo a great help to liis side. The New Zealand match results will bo a guide to selectors in picking the team against A7ictoria, and splendid practice, for team work and combination in doubles are very important.” *
