DOMINION CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. PUKEKOHE, July 16. The Dominion Conference of the Dairy Farmers’ Union opened at Pukekolie yesterday, and was continued today. Delegates were present from Wairarapa, Palmerston North, Wellington, Waikato and Lower Waikato provincial executives. The president, Air Neil Campbell, presided. A resolution was carried supporting the action of the Dairy Control Board in instituting absolute control, that a direct vote of the producers he obtained in the election of members of the board, and that the union take every step to ensure the ward system of election being in existence at the next election of the hoard.

The conference favoured the establishment of a State hank in New Zealand as the best medium to lower the present high rates of interest. The .executive was deputed to approach the Government regarding the price of phosphates and to ascertain whether a reduction could be made, and also to ascertain if the grading and marketing of pork for export could be put on a better basis. ft was decided that the Minister be approached and asked to make the grading of milk and cream compulsory, and to repeal the Act providing for the inspection of milking machine engines.
