REDS AT ALDERSHOT. STIRRING UP TOAIMY. LONDON, July 5. Bolshevik propaganda at Aldershot is evident from the numerous leaflets scattered and plastered on walls, pointing out that the officers’ leave is twice as long as the men’s, and that officers are also allowed free railway passes. The Under-Secretary to the War Office, the Earl of Onslow, has announced that a new rifle is in process of development. The barrel is heavier than that of the present weapon, and tho total weight is 81b 90z., instead of 91b. The bayonet weight 6*[cz instead of one lb.
General Sir George Afilne will succeed the Earl of Cavan as Chief of the Imperial General Staff, in February.
Sir George, now 59 years of age, lias seen much war service.. During the Great War ho commanded the 27th Division of the 16th Army Corps.
