Fat. sheep: Less than seven races of far. shoe)) were forward, compared with eight last week. Competition was very keen, and values all round were from 3s to 4s ahead of those of last week. Values were ns follow: Extra prime steers, £2O 2s 6d; prime, £l6 to £l9 ss; medium, £l4 5s to £ls 15s; light, £ll to £l3 10s; rough, £8 to £lO 10s; extra prime heifers, £l7 2s 6d ; prime. £lO to £l2 ; ordinary heifers, £6 to £9 10s; extra, prime cows, £l4 2s 6d; prime £9 5s to £l2 10s; ordinary, £7 5s to £9; light, £5 10s to £7. aged and inferior, £3 15s to £5. Vcalcrs: The supply was not equal to the demand. Runners, to £7 10s; good vealers, £5 5s to £6 10s; medium, £4 to £4 17s 6d ; good calves, £2 15s to £3 10s; small, £l to £1 15s. Store cattle: A very small entry was forward. Rest cows, to £3 10s; medium, £1 15s to £2 15s: inferior, 15s to £1 ss. Dairy cattle : Only 45 head were penned, and prices in consequence were ahead of last week’s. Best second, third and fourth ealvers and springing, £7 to £l2 10s; medium sorts, £5 to £6 10s; extra good springing heifers, £lO to £l3; good sorts £5 to £3; backward £1 10s to £4 10s; old cows, £1 to £1 10s.
Fat pigs: A small entry met with good demand. Choppers, £4 to £7 16s; fight, baconcrs. £4 to £4 15s; heavy, £5 5s to £5 12s 6d; extra heavy, £6 (average price per lb. 7d to 8d) ; light porkers, £2 8s to £2 17s; heavy, £3 to £3 14s (average price per lb, 9d to lOd). Store pigs: A small entry was penned, all classes selling well. Small stoves. 25s to 355; medium, 38s to 455; large, up to 52s 6d; sows in pig, £3 15s to £4 ss.
