Something in the nature of a curiosity in duck eggs was yesterday shown to a “Standard” reporter, for, save at one end where it was somewhat mottled in colour, the egg was a deep black. Its colour showed traces of the wild duck’s egg, for the breeding of the layer was undertaken by the owner out of curiosity. Finding that a wild duck was making himself on friendly terms with a small flock of household birds, the owner bred from the. eggs—hence the result.
