ORANGE LODGES.
JULY 12 CELEBRATIONS. The local Orange lodges held their annual celebration of the 12th July in their new hull, Lombard street, last evening. The commemoration took the form of a concert and dance. Bro. J. 8. Winton presided over an attendance of over 200. Selections were given by an orchestra under the control of Mr Osborne. The following also assisted : Recitation, Miss ]>. Jferguson • song, Alias Jlo|lior; duct, Miss N. Killick and Mr 11. l’itcher: song, Mr Lambert. Miss R. Taylor acted as acompauist. All received many encores. A stirring address was given by Ihc Rev. J. Milburn Stewart, who took as his subject, "Why 1 am a Protestant.” Votes of thanks were passed to the assisting artists; also to Rev. Bro. Stewart for his able address and his call to all Protestants to attend public worship, remembering those who had left us oilr great and glorious privileges of an open Bible and freedom of religious thought. Reference was also made to the ho.-tility shown to brethren in Glasgow, despite the fact that, religious (-‘processions take place in this town without molestation or comment.
Dancing was indulged in to a late hour.
