JAPANESE PRINCE’S TOUR.

TOKIO, May 1

Prince Chichibu-no-miya, prior tl iiis departure. for London to go to college, will tour in Formosa, Loochoo, and the mandated islands, in the cruiser Izumo, leaving Yokohama on May 24. The Prince will board the liner Hakozaki Mary for England at Singaf ore. Tho Imperial household states that the reported bethrothal of the Prince is premature.

Prince Cliieibu-no-miya is the second son of the Emperor of Japan, and was born June 25, 1902. Oh his attaining his majority in 1922 be founded a new House by Imperial decree. He graduated from the Military Academy m July of the same year. The mandated islands he will visit will include the Marshalls, the Carolines, the Ladrones, and the Peleni Islands in the Western Pacific. They are held by Japan under mandate from the League of Nations.
