AUCKLAND COUNCIL’S DECISION.

AUCKLAND, May 19. Mr T. Bloodworth, Labour member, who topped tho poll at the City Council election was proposed by Mr E. Phelans, the only other Labour member, for tho position of Deputy-Mayor at to-night’s meeting of the City Council. It has generally been the custom to appoint the councillor topping the poll as Deputy-Mayor, but Mr Phelans failed to find a eecondcr, and Mr J. A. Warnock was then appointed.
