The typhoid outbreak in Suva (Fiji) is abating, the average number of cases since May 1 being three and a half daily.
George Jeffrey, a gardener boy_ a pale delicate lad aged fifteen, was charged at the London Juvenile Court with the murder of Joan An nett. The prosecution showed that the girl's skull had been fractured, and there were fourteen _wounds in the head and neck, which might have been caused by a pen-knive. The police gave evidence that the boy voluntarily made a statement that he committed the crime.
