FEWER CASES.
EPIDEMIC THOUGHT TO BE ABATING. Per Press Association WELLINGTON, March 31. It appears from tho returns that the infantile paralysis epidemic is now abating. During the 24 hours ending at 9 a.m. today the notifications were as follow: Avondale, Takapuna, Wangaehu, Marton, Christchurch, Oainuru and St. Kikla, one each; Kaikouru, two. The chief medical officers will meet on Friday and it is expected that they will make recommendation with respect to whether or not the schools should be reopened after Easter. AUCKLAND, March 31. There were no notifications of infantile paralysis in the Aucklund province to-day.
