The Daily Express's Geneva correspondent states that M. Hoessel, a Swiss Student, narrates a horrible ordeal he underwent While touring the Alps with a man named Scliaer and Schaer's son. They climbed the Rothorn, nearing the summit at eight o'clock in the evening. The three were roped together. Schaer senior, fell dragging his eon with him, the father being killed and the son fatally injured, but the rope held and Hoessel remained on a ledge supporting the weight of the dead and living. Hoessel was unable to raise the dying man, who talked to him for several hours, telling of his .sufferings, until he died. Meanwhile, Hoessel, unable to move without riskihg his life, remained thus till dawn, when he crawled to the edge of the and finding his companions dead, cut the rope.—A. and N.Z. cable.
