CANADA'S FISCAL POLICY.
NOT PROTECTIONIST. Received Juno 14, 9.15 a.m. OTTAWA, .Mine 13._ The Finance Minister, Mr fielding, in a speech in the Douse of Commons, stated that the Government's fiscal policy was not protectionist. He assured Parliament that the Government strongly favoured reciprocity with the United States. He lea red tiiat Canada had loti a golden opportunity by rejecting a compact in 1911, but if at any moment their American neighbours were prepared to meet them in the spirit of 1911, lliey would be ready to discuss the mailer with willingness to make a satisfactory arrangement.—A. and N.Z. cable.
