COURT SENSATION.
■£> LADY AND CUINKSE. MISSII.F.S AND I.ANCCACK. ROCK HAMPTON, dune 2. A sensation occurred in the Koekliumpton Police Court yesterday morning when a voting woman. Annie May Scanlon, alia> Kdney. who is said to have Spanish Mood in her veins, appeared on a eluirge of having wilfully destroyed three panes ot glass, valued at £l. lite properly ol a Chinaman, Tommy Queii. When Tummy Qnen got into the box he and accused bad several heated and lurid arguments, in which lie alleged that j aciu-ed went to his collage, threw slopes, and got fur her lite. The Chinaman was leaning over the table signing depositions, when accused passed on her wav to the witness box, and she gram hed a leg of a derelict chair, and with the exclamation : “Take llml,” hit linn over the head. She put plenty of pep into the Mow, as the chair leg broke. The astonished ( liiiiainan lei. oui a yell, and as accused stepped up into the box he made a rush ai her. and gave her a vigorous the same time exclaiming; “Take that. ’ Senior-Sergeant lienzies tit once asked that accused be dealt with under section 40 of the .Justices Act. and defendant was lined £5 or seven days, and the destruction case was, adjourned until to-morrow.
