DEBTS OF GERMANY.
FRENCH OPPOSE REDUCTION.
INTERNATIONAL LOAN UNLIKELY. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, Received June 10, 9.20 a.m. PARIS, June 9. It; is reported that Mr Pierpont Morgan opposes proceeding further with the German international loan if Prance holds that the London schedule of German payments is inviolable. Mr Morgan regards it as futile to study the reparations problems for Britnin, Belgium and Italy, who in the aggregate are only entitled to 40 per cent, of llie reparations. Most of the newspapers strenuously oppose a reduction of the German debt, except the Gattlois, which declares: “’Franco is moving in a vicious circle. The point is whether it would bo more advantageous for France to reduce the debt or await further opportunities for settlement of the action.”
The Franca is believes that reduction is inevitable and that it is useless to grumble. —A. and N.Z. cable.
