LONDON, June 8. The second round of the golf tourney at Gleneaglos was full of surprises. Ockondon beat Taylor two up and one, and Mitchell beat Duncan by one hole.—A. and N.Z. cable. EXHIBITION TENNIS MATCH. LONDON, June 8. The Australian Davis Cup team played an exhibition match to-day in dull, drizzly weather, Patterson and Wertheini beating Anderson and Wood, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4. The players were never fully extended. Patterson was easily the most effective and consistent of the four, his service being practically unreUirnuble. Anderson has not. reached top form. Wertheini was the most irregular of the four, but played his best game since, his arrival, including a number of brilliant hnlf-volloys. Tile team goes to Scarborough for a few days before meeting' Belgium.—A. and N.Z. cable. DRAWN FIGHT IN NEW YORK. NEW YORK, June 7. Charley Pitts and Shainus O’Brien, of New York, fought 12 rounds to a draw. Pitts was tlte better boxer, and O'Brien was the cleverer infighter.—A. and N.Z, cable.
