DRINKING IN A RESTAURANT. DUNEDIN, Feb. G. At the Police Court a n»an was charged with drinking liquor in a restaurant at a time when licensed premises were required to be closed. The wifoof tlio manager was charged with allowing tho man to drink liquor in the restaurant. Counsel lor the defendant contended, that the 'Legislature would not have intended to prevent a lodger in a restaurant drinking liquor on the premises, but Mr Young, S.M., entered a conviction. stating that in his opinion tho lodger was not an occupier within the meaning of tho Sale of Liquor Restrictions Act, 1917, and that was the question for determination in this case.
