AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. DICKMAN WINS THE 500 YARDS. (Br Electric Telegrape-Copibioht.) (Per Press Association.) ADELAIDE, Feb. 24. Dickman, of New South Wales, won the 500 yards professional swimming championship'of Australia in 6min 47 sees. Read, of .New South Wales, was second, . CHAMPION IN FINE FORM. ' BEATS HIS OWN-RECORD. ' (Per Press, Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 24. M. E. Champion broke his own one mile swimming record at tho Auckland Centre's sports to-night by reducing the figures from 25min 16 4-5 sees to 24min 48 1-5 sees, Ho was in wonderful form, and won the 108 yards race in 67secs, which on calculation is equal to about 62secs for the 100 yds, a second better than the New Zealand record.
