FOOTBALL.

MANAWATU RUGBY UNION. The ordinary .weekly meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Union was held in Cotton's Rooms last, night. .Present —Messrs F. Pirani (in the chair), Stagpoole, Pickett, Foote, Pawson, Armstrong, Stubbs and'Muller. Mr Con Fraser was appointed.to fill the vacancy on the Management Committee. Mr McWilliams, on behalf of the Palmerston Club, waited on the meeting in reference to the Union's refusal to allow Burbush and Brisco to play junior for Palmerston this year, and after hearing his explanation it was decided to allow the two players to be shifted down. The junior match Feilding v. Old Boys in the first round is to be played at Palmerston instead of Feilding, while iii the second round the place of. play will also be reversed. Mr Armstrong, on behalf, of the Committee appointed to inspect the dressing sheds at the Showgrounds, reported on their condition, and the improvements required, and it was resolved to carry out the Committee's suggestions. Messrs Pickett, Armstrong, Foote and Manning were appointed a Committee to make arrangements for the use" of the new gymnasium. • It was decided to make a charge of sixpence at the gate and sixpence extra to the grandstand at Cup matches, ladies to, bo admitted free. Members of the Management Committee will wear distinguishing badges during the season. Footballers are reminded that they can insure immediately in the Union's accident fund. Mr, J. Manning will be in attendance on Saturday at the Clarendon corner at 1 o'clock. Mr Mullcr at the Showground, and Mr Ongley at Feilding, while the secretaries of the Linton, Bunnythorpe and United Valley Clubs are authorised also to receive subscriptions from their clubs. Sen son tickets ar.e to be issued to schoolbovs, admitting them to all matches'for one shilling, and the boys can get them . from their schoormast'Ors or at the gates on Saturday'. Snaron tickets for adults are now also available.
