Tho inquest on the body of the lad Walters, killed at Sandon, whichy was to have been held to-day, has been adjourned. Captain Edwin wired to-day:—South-erly moderate to strong winds; glass rise; rain probable; weather probably much colder. William. Waugh. who was lined £100 for assaulting Constable Connor and bound over to keep .the pcae-o for two years in his own bond of £200 and two sureties of £100 each, paid his fine, entered into his recognisances, and found the sureties fixed by tho Judge. Charles Fittori, \vho was fined £100 for 'assaulting a man named Roach and bound over to keep the peace for three -.years in Lis own bond of £500 and two sureties of £250 each, paid his fine to-day, and also entered into his recognisances and found his sureties. Owing to the fact that tho Wanganui Board's pupil-teachcrs are in future >o be given drawing lessons- at Feilding High School by the Board's own instructors, instead of at Pnlmerston by the local High School Board's art mastor, the latter Board will lose a considerable amount in fees. After referring to the matter at last night's meeting of th«~. Wanganui Education Board, Mr Bennett moved —" That the presentengagement with the Falmerston High School Board with regard jo the draw- 1 ing department bo extended to twelve months." The motion was lost after considerable discussion.
